StoreSmart Self-Storage Announces its $1 Move-In Pledge in Support of SPCAs and Humane Societies in Alberta
Calgary, Alberta, February 26, 2015 – Earlier today, StoreSmart Self-Storage officially announced its $1 Move-In Pledge.
For every unit rental realized in 2015, each StoreSmart Self-Storage location has pledged to donate $1 in support of its local SPCA or Humane Society. With four locations throughout Alberta in Red Deer, Canmore, Edmonton and Cochrane, the immediate beneficiaries of the $1 Move-In Pledge are: the Bow Valley SPCA, the Red Deer & District SPCA, the Edmonton Humane Society, and the Cochrane & Area Humane Society. This pledge builds on the company’s fundraising efforts in 2014, which raised more than $1,700 in total for these organizations.
“We are very excited to make it official, as this program has actually been in the works for much of 2014,” said Kim Sterling, President and Chief Operating Officer of StoreSmart Self-Storage. “This is a really cool thing that we are able to do, and we are thrilled to be working with such wonderful local partners,” she added.
“Establishing a relationship with corporate donors is vital to our success. We are really encouraged by our new relationship with StoreSmart Self-Storage, especially as we recently launched the Bow Valley SPCA Campaign For Life. This type of forward thinking will go a long way to help us in the Bow Valley as we are entirely independent of any other SPCA,” said Laura S. Lynes, Co-Chair Bow Valley SPCA For Life.
For StoreSmart Self-Storage, this announcement represents a new chapter in its corporate giving. “Although we have a long history of supporting many charities and not-for-profits, we were specifically seeking to build a long term donor relationship with a cause that would resonate well with our customers and staff,” said Sterling. “Another consideration was finding something that would have a local impact in each of the towns and cities where we operate. Our local SPCAs and Humane Societies were a great fit. They play an important role in the communities where we live and are supported by a huge number of volunteers. We’re very proud to support their efforts.”
Anyone wishing to make an additional donation to any of the above SPCAs or Humane Societies may do so by visiting any StoreSmart Self-Storage location or by visiting its website, www.storesmart.ca/about-us/community.html.
Established in 2006, and based in Calgary, Alberta, StoreSmart Self-Storage offers short and long term self-storage solutions for residential and business users, as well as other relocation conveniences, such as the sale of boxes and moving supplies, and truck and trailer rentals at most of its locations.
