Calgary, Alberta, February 23, 2017 – StoreSmart Self-Storage today announced its annual donation of more than $1,800 in support of local animal welfare organizations, representing proceeds from the company’s $1 Move-In Pledge.

“Since 2014, StoreSmart Self-Storage has been pleased to donate $1 from every rental at each of its individual locations throughout Alberta to that store’s local SPCA or Humane Society. To date, we have raised more than $5,200 in support of the Bow Valley SPCA, the Cochrane & Area Humane Society, the Red Deer & District SPCA, and the Edmonton Humane Society,” said Kim Sterling, President & Chief Operating Officer of StoreSmart Self-Storage.

StoreSmart Self-Storage also collects in-store donations on behalf of these organizations and provides storage space when needed. In 2016, the company donated storage units to the Cochrane & Area Humane Society and to the Bow Valley SPCA.

“Wherever we can pitch in to help a little bit, we will. As so many of our employees enjoy the companionship of furry friends in their own homes, this is a cause close to our hearts. We very much value and support the work of these organizations and their volunteers,” Sterling added.

SPCAs and Humane Societies help sick, injured, neglected or abused animals by rescuing, rehabilitating and re-homing them. They provide medical treatments and educate adults and children about responsible pet ownership. Anyone wishing to make an additional donation to any of the above organizations may do so by visiting any StoreSmart Self-Storage location or by visiting
