StoreSmart Self-Storage Announces Annual Donation in Support of Animal Welfare
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Calgary, Alberta, March 19, 2019 – StoreSmart Self-Storage today announced its annual donation of more than $1,500 in support of local animal welfare organizations.
The donation represents 2018’s proceeds from the company’s “You Rent, We Donate” campaign. It will also mark the 5th anniversary of the company’s $1 Move-In Pledge.
“Beginning in 2014, StoreSmart Self-Storage has been donating one dollar from every self-storage unit rental in support of local SPCAs and Humane Societies. When the pledge was conceived in 2014, we were keen to establish a long-term donor relationship that would have a strong local impact in the communities in which we operate. Our local SPCAs and Humane Societies were a great fit. As so many of our customers and employees have furry friends of their own, animal welfare is something that we are collectively passionate about and excited to support,” explained Kim Sterling, President & Chief Operating Officer of StoreSmart Self-Storage.
To date, StoreSmart Self-Storage has raised more than $8,500 in support of local SPCAs and Humane Societies, including: the Bow Valley SPCA in Canmore, the Central Alberta Humane Society in Red Deer, the Cochrane & Area Humane Society in Cochrane, and the Edmonton Humane Society in Edmonton.
Added Sterling, “We are grateful to these organizations for their work and to their volunteers that give generously of their time. We are very proud to support their efforts."
StoreSmart Self-Storage also collects in-store donations on behalf of these organizations and provides storage space as needed. In 2018, the company donated storage space to the Bow Valley SPCA and the Central Alberta Humane Society.
SPCAs and Humane Societies help sick, injured, neglected or abused animals by rescuing, rehabilitating and re-homing them. They provide medical treatments and educate adults and children about responsible pet ownership. Anyone wishing to make an additional donation to any of the above organizations may do so by visiting any StoreSmart Self-Storage location or by visiting www.StoreSmart.ca.
